Venue and Accommodation

CONFERENCE VENUE
The conference will be hosted at the University of St Andrews in the Mathematical Institute and Physics and Astronomy Buildings, in the North Haugh, situated on the western approach to St Andrews. The venues are marked nos 14 and 15 (grid ref F3/G3) on the St Andrews town map. (Map available here).
 
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation is available in Agnes Blackadder Hall. It is located just a few hundred yards from the North Haugh conference venues and less than a 10 minute walk from the historic centre of St Andrews. There are car-parking spaces for guests. (Marked No 4, Grid ref D3/E3, on map available here.)
Agnes Blackadder Hall offers 3 star bed and breakfast accommodation in modern en-suite bedrooms and a friendly service. All bedrooms feature an en-suite shower room, a double bed (4' 6'' wide), alarm clocks, wi-fi and TVs.
PAYMENT
For conference delegates the price per room per night B&B are as follows: –
Single Occupancy (£53 inc. VAT)
Double Occupancy (£77 inc. VAT)
To secure these rates you will need to enter into the promotional code box is ‘IBSC2013’ (not case sensitive). The link to the accommodation booking page is https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/resbus/bnb/ . Unfortunately, the booking system is not compatible with Ipads.
Please note that only the following cards are accept when making an online payment – Visa, Visa Debt, Master Card, Maestro and Visa Electron. If a delegate cannot pay with one of these cards then they can phone the residence reception (013344 67000) and the booking can be taken over the phone.
Rooms will be released after 1st May 2013.
 
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BOOKING
1. Cancellation Terms for Bed and Breakfast
1.1. If the Client cancels a reservation 14 or more days prior to arrival all monies paid will be refunded with the exception of a £15.00
per person administration fee which shall be retained. Cancellations made within 14 days of arrival will receive no refund. Any
amendment(s) to your booking(s) which result in a lower overall booking cost will incur a £15 per room administration fee.
2. Cancellation Terms for Self-Catering at David Russell Apartments
2.1. If the Client cancels a reservation 28 or more days prior to arrival all monies paid will be refunded with the exception of a £100 per
flat administration fee which shall be retained. Cancellations made within 28 days of arrival will receive no refund. Any
amendment(s) to your booking(s) which result in a lower overall booking cost will incur a £30 per flat administration fee.
3. Liability
3.1. The University will not accept liability for death, injury, disease, damage to, or loss of property unless proved to have been caused by
negligence on the part of the University.
3.2. The Client will be liable for the costs of rectifying any damage caused by or arising out of their occupancy of the premises.
3.3. The University accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to property or goods belonging to or used in the premises by the Client,
or third party.
4. Health & Safety Regulations
3.1 Smoking is not allowed in any part of the premises in compliance with the Smoking, Health and Social Care (Scotland) Act 2005 and
the Client must comply with the no smoking policy.
3.2 All exits, fire alarm controls, fire fighting appliances and emergency doors must not be tampered with in any way, and at all times
shall be kept free of obstruction.
3.3 The Client is responsible for ensuring that the University is notified in advance of any individual who will require assistance in the
event of an emergency evacuation.
5. Other
5.1. Animals are not permitted on University premises. However an exception is made for Assistance Dogs. Please notify us in advance if
you plan to bring a guide dog with you so we can assist you.
6. Availability
6.1. The University reserves the right to alter or cancel any booking, or part of a booking. If for any reason beyond the control of the
University we are unable to fulfil any order, we shall not be liable for damages or compensation but our charge will be abated by a
fair and reasonable apportionment.
7. Jurisdiction
7.1. The contract shall be read, construed and governed in all respects in accordance with the Laws of Scotland.
8. VAT
8.1. Prices quoted include VAT at the prevailing rate, unless otherwise specified, and are subject to alteration should the rate change.
